NB!
Divorce in Latvia is handled only by courts and notaries.

A notary may grant a divorce based on a joint application submitted by both spouses in accordance with the Notariat Law.

If the spouses have minor children and joint property to be divided, a written agreement is required regarding the custody of the minor child, visitation rights, child support, and division of joint property.

I prepare such agreements when there are special personal circumstances or the case is particularly complex. However, in most cases, it is more financially advantageous to apply directly to any sworn notary.

Inheritance Law
  • General Legal Consultations

    • Claims related to contesting wills in court

    NB!
Inheritance matters in Latvia are handled by sworn notaries. Therefore, regarding inheritance issues, you need to contact the sworn notary responsible for the inheritance case.
